The organization started as the C.I.T. Little League, which was associated with The Little League Organization of America. In that first year, there were four Little League teams with 60 players, ages 9 to 10. Most of the operating costs in those days were defrayed by team sponsorship's and local business contributions. The organization incorporated in 1966 after its merger with the existing community Pony, Colt and Prep League organization. Today C.I.T. is funded entirely by contributions, fundraising, advertising, team sponsorships, and the support of it's participating families. The association operates through the volunteer efforts of its Board of Directors, managers, coaches, and general membership.
