Course Details
Widely regarded as America's earliest links, the course was heavily remodeled by C.B. Macdonald and later redesigned by William S. Flynn in the early 1930s, retaining three original holes. Its architecture has remained largely unchanged for nearly 50 years. Most trees that once framed the holes have been removed. In 2012, Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw made minor adjustments, including green expansions and new mowing patterns, to prepare Shinnecock for the 2018 U.S. Open, won by Brooks Koepka. Shinnecock is set to host the U.S. Open again in 2026.
