Course Details

In 1916, Inverness Club hired famed designer Donald Ross to create an 18-hole championship course, completed in 1918. The course quickly gained acclaim, hosting the Ohio Open in 1919, which led to an invitation to hold the 1920 U.S. Open, the first of four Opens at Inverness (1920, 1931, 1957, 1979). Inverness also hosted two dramatic PGA Championships (1986, 1993). By 1937, Inverness and Chicago Golf Club were the only clubs outside the original thirteen colonies to host multiple U.S. Opens. Over 101 years, Inverness has hosted numerous major championships, including the 2021 Solheim Cup, solidifying its place in golf history.
