Course Details
The Royal Ka’anapali Course is one of only two layouts in Hawaii designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. He used the natural terrain to craft sloping fairways and large, contoured greens that demand precision on every approach. Measuring 6,700 yards, this par-71 course opens at sea level with a 550-yard par 5 and follows the coastline before rising toward the foothills of the West Maui Mountains. The 18th hole—a 449-yard par 4—was praised by Arnold Palmer as one of the best and most difficult finishing holes he ever played. It runs alongside a brackish water canal from tee to green, adding both beauty and danger to the final shot.
