Course Details
In 1996, Tom Fazio embarked on crafting the inaugural 18 holes at Pinehurst's esteemed Forest Creek Golf Club, aptly named the South Course. From the undulating pine forest, Fazio sculpted fairways that often led downhill, while greens were designed to accommodate low, running shots. Unlike its sand-focused neighbors, such as Pinehurst No. 2 and Mid-Pines, the South Course drew inspiration from the rolling, parkland style of Augusta National, resulting in a gracefully flowing layout that blends seamlessly with the landscape, evoking an understated, unforced beauty. Nearly a decade later, Fazio returned to introduce the North Course, opting for a more organic, terrain-driven layout. Uphill holes and semi-blind tee shots characterize the North Course, with the sandy base of the pine forest strategically integrated, serving both as scenic framing and carry hazards. Formal bunkers are adorned with clusters of bushy wiregrass or dwarf pampas, adding to the natural charm.
