Course Details
Established in 1898, Minikahda holds the distinction of being the oldest country club west of the Mississippi, deeply intertwined with Minneapolis's growth. Initially a gathering spot for impressed picnickers overlooking Bde Maka Ska, it evolved into a premier venue for social and golf activities. The name "Minikahda," derived from Dakota, symbolizes "by the side of the water," reflected in the club's Native American shield logo. Designed by Willie Watson and Robert Foulis, the original nine-hole course expanded into 18 holes in 1907. Notably, the club enforced strict divot replacement policies in 1916, highlighting its commitment to course etiquette.
