Aronimink serves as a testament to architectural evolution. Following Donald Ross's completion of his design in 1928, he famously said “I intended to make this my masterpiece, but not until today did I realize that I built better than I knew.” A recent renovation led by Gil Hanse and Jim Wagner, who reside nearby, aimed to align the course's architecture with early aerial photographs, particularly emphasizing bunkering consistent with Ross's envisioned scale. Aronimink Golf Club has been the host of several championships including the 1962 PGA Championship, the 1977 US Amateur Championship, the 1997 US Junior Amateur Championship, the 2003 Senior PGA Championship, the 2010 & 2011 AT&T National Championship, the 2018 BMW Championship, the 2020 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, and the upcoming 2026 PGA Championship.
