Course Details

At Whiskey Creek, architect J. Michael Poellot and design consultant Ernie Els embraced the bold character of the land to craft a dramatic and strategic course. Elevated tees are a hallmark, including the stunning fifth, framed by massive boulders with a fairway dropping 100 feet to a distant green and a view that stretches across Maryland. The 14th tee offers a more demanding shot, launching over a narrow lake. Even the par 3s are no reprieve—guarded by a mix of water, wetlands, bunkers, and stone, with the 200-yard 11th hole featuring all four. Risk-reward options abound, with drivable par 4s that punish the errant and an 18th hole split by the ruins of an old farmhouse, forcing players to choose between a bold line with a chance at the green in two or a longer, safer route. Whiskey Creek demands imagination and smart decision-making from every type of golfer.
