Course Details

Originally opened in 1928 as Middletown Golf Club and later renamed Edgewood Country Club, TPC River Highlands underwent a major transformation in 1982 when Pete Dye redesigned it into a championship-caliber course. A second renovation followed in 1989, led by architect Bobby Weed in collaboration with PGA TOUR Design Services, with input from pros Howard Twitty and Roger Maltbie. The course has earned high praise, being ranked among the top 10 in Connecticut by Golf Digest and voted “Best Private Course in the State” six years running by Connecticut Golfer Online. Its final stretch, particularly holes 15 through 18, is known for its challenge and drama — with holes 15 to 17 wrapping around a four-acre lake. 2008 Travelers Championship winner Stewart Cink once called them “four of the most exciting finishing holes in a group anywhere in the world.”
