First Tee - Virginia Blue Ridge was founded in 2015 and officially received its national chapter license April 28, 2016. The chapter serves the city of Charlottesville as well as Albemarle, Buckingham, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, Nelson, Culpeper and Orange counties. Since their inception in 2016, they have launched programs across Albemarle and Greene counties and at Birdwood Golf Course, Meadowcreek Golf Course, and The Highlands Golf Park, teaching the Nine Core Values and Nine Healthy Habits to over 9,193 area youth. Their mission is to provide transformational and educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values, and promote healthy choices through the game of golf.
