Course Details

Essex Fells Country Club, founded in 1896, opened its full 18-hole course in 1916, though the original architect remains unknown. Initially playing at 5,430 yards as a par 70, the course underwent a major transformation in the 1920s when famed architect Seth Raynor was commissioned to redesign and re-route it. His work extended the course to 6,144 yards and removed the holes that previously crossed Devon Road. The result was a revitalized layout that forms the foundation of the course Essex Fells members know today.
