Course Details

Originally designed by renowned architect George Cobb in 1961 to highlight the natural beauty and challenging terrain of the Piedmont region, Quail Hollow underwent extensive renovations before hosting the 2017 PGA Championship, won by Justin Thomas. Acres of pines near the fifth tee were removed to make way for a new par-3 fourth hole, known for its challenging knobby green and three bunkers. Additional enhancements, such as tree removal for bunkers and hospitality boxes, further improved the course. Despite the rushed nature of the remodeling, it undoubtedly elevated the course's appeal. Furthermore, the course was rerouted for the 2022 Presidents Cup. Champions Park, established in 2004 between the ninth and tenth fairways, pays tribute to professional tournament winners at Quail Hollow, featuring a rock structure adorned with plaques honoring various champions.
