Course Details
As one of the pioneering golf clubs in the West, Waverley has played a significant role in golf history, hosting landmark events such as the earliest U.S. International Golf Match, the first Oregon Amateur Golf Championship, and seven USGA Championships. In 1898, just two years after Waverley Country Club was founded, members sought a more scenic location for their course, leading to the creation of Waverley’s 18-hole Riverside Links. The club’s first golf professional, Jack Moffat, helped lay out the new course. Between 1912 and 1924, renowned architect H. Chandler Egan refined the course’s design, shaping its current layout, enhancing bunkering, and constructing numerous green complexes.
