Course Details
The Foundry Golf Club occupies a rolling swath of Virginia countryside stitched together by Fine Creek, where native grasses, hardwoods, and exposed rock shape the corridors of play. Long before golf, the Siouan-speaking Monacan people farmed this fertile ground near the James River, working native copper, cultivating plants, and leaving distinctive earthen burial mounds across the region; as settlement advanced into the Piedmont, many Monacan communities moved west toward Bear Mountain in Amherst County. In 1990, local visionary J.K. Timmons set a course on this landscape, borrowing ideas from celebrated designs around the world to craft a routing that challenges skilled players while preserving a quiet, secluded character. The result is golf that follows the land—through creek bends, over rocky outcrops, and across heaving terrain—delivering strategy and serenity in equal measure.
