Course Details

Westwood Golf Club, originally established in 1928 as Westwood Country Club, holds the distinction of being Houston's second-oldest private golf club still operating on its original grounds. The initial course, designed by renowned Texas golf professional and architect John Bredemus, featured a nine-hole layout. This "challenging nine" had a par of 36 and offered two sets of tees. In 1957, the club enlisted Ralph Plummer, a former assistant to Bredemus, to revamp the existing nine holes and introduce an additional nine. In 2002, members committed to restoring Westwood as a premier private golf destination, prioritizing the sport itself. Keith Foster was brought in to oversee a complete redesign of the course. In 2018, the club launched a comprehensive renovation project, enhancing the greens, tees, and bunkers while restoring the greens to their original design features.
