Regarded by many as the pinnacle of Dick Wilson's design prowess, Laurel Valley Golf Club was established with involvement from Arnold Palmer, who resided just a few miles away. There were efforts to entice Palmer to abandon the PGA Tour and assume the role of head professional and manager at the club. While Palmer contemplated this proposition, he ultimately declined. Instead, Palmer achieved immense success in golf and established a golf design company responsible for three major renovations of the picturesque Laurel Valley course.
