Course Details
Troubadour, part of Discovery Land Company’s international portfolio, sits within a luxury, amenity-heavy community about 30 miles south of Nashville—its name nodding to the region’s traveling musicians. Built without cutting corners, the course occupies the former Hideaway at Arrington footprint, originally routed by von Hagge, Smelek and Baril, then reshaped into a more refined, playable design. Elevated tees showcase the central Tennessee foothills, and while most holes still move through established corridors, the redesign softened much of the old severity—trading steep moguls and ornate bunker clusters for longer, cleaner shaping and graceful lines. Several greens were shifted away from hazards to more accessible positions, notably on the par 5s at 3, 9, and 12. Tom Fazio and associate Blake Bickford also expanded playing width toward the tree line, improving sightlines, opening strategic options, and adding bold, large-scale bunkers that point golfers toward preferred landing areas. The standout stretch is holes 10 through 15, a panoramic run that rises and falls across secluded terrain, crosses creek ravines, and feels settled into the landscape rather than newly built.
