Augusta Country Club is the oldest golf club in Augusta, with documented origins dating back to 1899. It underwent a name change in 1900 to The Country Club of Augusta and later, in 1921, adopted the name The Augusta Country Club. In 1942, the club officially incorporated under the name The Augusta Country Club, Incorporated. In 2018, the club gained attention when it sold a section of its property—primarily its ninth hole—to Augusta National. This land was later developed into the new back tee for Augusta National’s renowned 13th hole, completed in 2023. As a result, Silva designed a new ninth hole for Augusta Country Club, a par 4 that now curves gently to the right.
