Course Details

Salisbury’s 27-hole layout stands among Virginia’s top golf experiences, evolving from an 18-hole Edward Ault design in 1968 to its current form with the addition of practice facilities and a third nine by Lester George in 2002. Each of the three nines has its own distinct character: Huguenot offers generous, well-manicured fairways leading to large, rolling greens, but the ever-present wind and water in play on six holes make accuracy essential despite its straightforward look. Monacan, the original front side from 1963, features minimal elevation change and relatively flat fairways, making it ideal for a relaxed walk or a quick nine with family, with greenside bunkers, bold green contours, and water near the ninth green providing most of the defense. Buckingham is the most demanding of the trio, with tree-lined fairways, multiple doglegs, strategic bunkering, and contoured greens requiring thoughtful shot-making, highlighted by a striking par-3 fourth hole where water and a bulkhead wrap tightly around the green.
