Founded way back in 1889, The Country Club has a deep history that's tied closely to the early days of golf in America and the rise of the country club scene. The land itself is perfect for golf—smooth elevation changes with some bold, rolling terrain that William Flynn masterfully wove into his design in the late 1920s. Fast forward to 2022, and Gil Hanse and Jim Wagner gave the course a fresh update—widening bunkers to better fit the scale of the land, stretching out fairways and green edges, dropping tee boxes, regrassing the whole place, and even pushing the 18th green back by around 80 yards.
