Course Details

Sea Island often credits H.S. Colt for its Seaside course, but the original Seaside nine (now holes 10–18) was actually laid out by his partner, Charles Alison, during his 1920s–30s travels. Today’s Seaside is a Tom Fazio redesign that merges Alison’s nine with Joe Lee’s 1974 Marshland Nine to form a new 18. Fazio honored the resort’s lineage with Alison-style cues—bold clamshell bunkers, compact greens, and stretches of exposed sand flanking windswept fairways. The result is a modern championship venue that has hosted multiple USGA events and remains a fixture on the PGA Tour.
