Course Details

Sankaty Head, located on the eastern shore of Nantucket, first welcomed golfers in 1923. It was designed by local amateur player Emerson Armstrong, but with its winding layout and well-placed bunkers—recently refined by Jim Urbina to evoke the brilliance of Donald Ross—you might think it was the work of a seasoned architect. The expansive fairways stretch across rolling fescue-covered terrain, following the site's natural undulations much like a classic English links. Staying true to its inspiration, the greens remain open at the front, inviting low, running approach shots to navigate the relentless Atlantic winds. Meanwhile, its collection of par 3s offers a blend of challenge and beauty that few courses can match.
