Jerry Pate—U.S. Open champion turned architect—crafted The Colony’s 18-hole, par-72 layout at roughly 6,802 yards, threading broad Paspalum corridors past lakes and protected preserves. In 2017, both the clubhouse and course were overhauled, with every playing surface from tee to green rebuilt in Platinum Paspalum. The salt-tolerant turf suits Southwest Florida’s Gulf climate, holding moisture and maintaining a dense, vibrant green surface throughout the year.
