Course Details
Sunnehanna Country Club opened on September 8, 1923, taking its name from “Sunnehanna,” the Native American term for the Stoneycreek River meaning “slow-moving stream.” Out-of-town members arrived in private Pullman cars for the grand opening, and sixty players competed in the inaugural tournament. A.W. Tillinghast designed the course and later revised it. The Sunnehanna Amateur began in 1956, quickly earned national stature, and marked its 57th playing in 2010.
