Ross in 1928, the Country Club of York is recognized among the elite—ranked No. 38 of more than 6,000 U.S. clubs by the Platinum Clubs of America and No. 125 worldwide by the Platinum Clubs of the World. A perennial championship venue at the national, state, and regional levels, it has hosted the 1999 USGA Junior Amateur; the Pennsylvania State Women’s Golf Association Amateur in 1974 and 2011; the Pennsylvania Open in 1989 and 2014; the Pennsylvania Mid-Am in 1994 and 2005; the 2012 Women’s Eastern Amateur; four U.S. Women’s Amateur qualifiers; and the 2021 Philadelphia Open. Its identity is defined by 59 deep-faced bunkers that challenge players throughout the round.
