Course Details

Arthur Hills left a strong imprint on Atlanta golf in the late 1980s and early 1990s, designing five courses that elevated the city’s standard for both public and private play. His most celebrated work from that period was the Lakeside Course at the Golf Club of Georgia, a 36-hole complex north of Atlanta that earned Best New Private Course honors in 1991. The course takes its name from Lake Windward, which Hills incorporated into holes 11 through 14 with a jagged shoreline that demands precision. Water again comes into play at the closing hole, where the pond guarding the 18th green influenced the outcome of multiple Nationwide Championships, a Senior PGA Tour event contested there from 1995 through 2000.
