Nipper Campbell, a renowned figure in golf, gained prominence as a prolific golf architect in Ohio, with his legacy chiefly tied to the design of Moraine Country Club. Despite a brief stint as head pro at Moraine and significant involvement in The Country Club's expansion in Brookline, his name is most often associated with Moraine's creation. Situated on glacial moraine terrain, the course was originally concealed by dense tree growth until Keith Foster, with his deft touch and chainsaw, unveiled its natural domed hills. Adjacent to NCR Country Club, built by Dick Wilson, Moraine's transformation caught the eye of an aspiring golf designer, Joe Lee, who was later recruited by Wilson himself.
